Yesterday I and three of the ginger Tribe sows went on a train journey to Kidsgrove/Stoke-on-Trent to The Potteries Guinea Pig Rescue in order to date a new Mr. Tribe after he'd been finally given the all clear by the vet after his post neutering wait.

Thankfully, as hoped, gorgeous and very sweet natured Foxy ticked the right boxes even with my Mrs Extremely Picky Tanni and promptly travelled back home with us. Foxy's new Welsh name is Bedo (pronounced Bed-do); it translates as "little splendid lord", an old endearment/short name to Meredith - which I think is certainly suitable!

Bedo is one of the boys that were found dumped in a box on Cannock Chase last autumn. With the good care from the rescue, he has thankfully recovered from his ordeal.
PS: His companion Blaze, a very strikingly marked black and cream aby, will be looking for his lady/ladies from next week. ;)

Wow a stunner... He's certainly got his Valentines gift early.. ;)

Colour coordinated piggies - how fantastic ;). Seriously though he looks very at home already with his adoring ladies, long may the honeymoon last.

He is really gorgeous! What a lucky home for him to end up in after his ordeal!

Actually, I didn't even know about the ginger bits until I saw him at the rescue; the only picture of Bedo that I'd seen beforehand showed only his slate face! ;)

Many rescue ladies know that I have a soft spot for ginger piggies, but in all honesty, three out of the six girls (Hedydd, Hafren and Papi) were chosen by their respective rescue and not by me! And in Bedo's case, the important thing for me was his personality, not his looks!

He has the most amazing hair I have ever SEEN!
When I saw his name - Despicable Me Minion came to mind when they were pretending to be fire fighters XD

He's a gorgeous piggie Wiebke. Even more scrummy in pigson, as I met him when we collected Teddy.
Are they settling well with each other today ?

We've got quite a bit of dominance going on with the bottom sows today, but we will hopefully get through it in a few days as Bedo is not at all aggressive. He's currently bouncing somewhere between lower to middle rank... judging from PiliPala's and Heulwen's behaviour. Papi has calmed down now that she is out of the running. Sows! :mal:

Sows... you can't live with them, can't live without them,or so Edward tells me. At least Bedo isn't being a little strop monster like Edward was initially when he didn't get his way.
I think everything has calmed down with our trio now both girls have been in season twice.

Bedo is currently working his way up the hierarchy ladder, so we have been having a few High Noon face-offs - but all piggies involved are very careful to not step over the line as acceptance has happened and they have to live together. He is thankfully mainly a rumbler, but not a chaser or mounter, so things should settle down nicely once the dominance has been sorted out.

He is gorgeous Wiebke, glad to hear he has his paws under the table and is settling in well
