I don't think they are, most of the engineering manufacturers in the area are no longer there. Were their premises painted green? They were situated on the right going up Narrow Lane. I used to know someone who owned a small garage almost next door to Mucklow's.
It wasn't until talk about the B.C. accent started that I remembered another aspect of B.C people, their ability to speak their mind without fear or favour and not to bear a grudge against others of a similar disposition.............

Yes they were on the right and I think it was green. The last time I went down Narrow Lane was about 5 or 6 years ago and they were there then. I remember sitting in the office watching them building the houses opposite. I so fancied one of the builders! :))

I occasionally go to Halesowen, to go to "that" discount place opposite Comet, and even less frequently to go up the hill to Blackheath for dental treatment.
I haven't been down Narrow Lane for many years. Incidentally there are many excellent books about the B.C. and surrounding areas. I am on one or two photos in one book.....times long since gone by!!!

At least my accent is said to be the closest to old English still in existence. Correction, dialect to be strictly accurate. In case you are wondering, tough if you are not, it is Black country, under NO circumstances to be confused with a Birmingham accent.

Actually it was proven that the Norfolk dialect (not Dalek, Louise) is the closest to native english as you can get and uses all the oldest wording in the country!

I haven't been for a very long time. I used to go a lot when mum was alive, but not very often in recent years. I go and visit a friend in Pedmore (even more posh than Halesowen). So are you going to tell us which book you are in?

You do have great accents but peter dint sound australian to me :)) :))

Haha Niki, well not now he drops into Scouse quite easily. But when I first met him I thought he was from Australia and couldn't get over how unlike a farmer he sounded! :(|)

I have real trouble understanding people from London, my ex would talks so quick I couldn't understand him it was like a different language! Funny I don't like Scouse accents on men, like Jamie Carragher its all er.....er...er.....er...sounds like Ann from Little Britain!

A Norfolk Dalek now that is interesting, what do they do...Cultivate...Cultivate! :(|)

You may have difficulty selling if the pigs are still resident as sitting tenants!
