My piggie family expanded recently. We bought Meg home late November/early December. She's a very attractive ginger-pig (we have a connection through our shared hue lol!) with a cheeky outgoing personality. She was pretty tame when we got her and she now comes to the front of her cage and demands cuddles if you happen to walk by. She will also then demand to be put back by gently but firmly nibbling your finger. Guess who's in charge in our house?!

On Christmas eve Meg spawned some Meglets (result of an accidental litter mate mating courtesy of a rather stupid breeder/seller combination) that we named Rio, Twinkle and Mistletoe. Rio and Twinkle are ginger and white boys. Twinks has red eyes and a mostly white face, whilst Rio is black eyed with a pirate stripe of white over one eye. Mistletoe is a carbon copy of Meg, a teeny weeny sassy ginger lady. We have really enjoyed getting to know them since Christmas and watching all their personalities develop.

Rio is a drama queen - he never shuts up wheeking and is the one regularly seen popcorning underneath his siblings or sending the toys sky-high in his excitement. Despite his noise is actually quite a timid piggie and always likes to know where mummy Meg is. We've been practicing being handled and fed a little bit further away from Meg from each time in the hopes that the eventually separation will be a bit easier for him. He is rather a mummy's boy at the moment!

Twinkle is another loud one, but much more adventurous than Rio. He loves being out and about and nomming his way through as much food as he can fit in his mouth (that's a lot, for the record). His favourite place to be tickled is on his sides and just behind his ears. He doesn't seem to mind where Meg is so long as he has a comfy lap and tasty nibbles.

Mistletoe (Missy for short) is quieter but much more assertive than the boys. She knows exactly what's going on and never misses a trick. Always first to the food bowl, and first to the best hiding hole if needed. Often seen trampling over the boys (or Meg) to get to food, Missy was the smallest born but has just about eclipsed both the boys in terms of weight gain. She doesn't care about anything, is comfortable being handled, fed, away from Meg, absolutely anything. She often tries to wander off exploring when she's out (into hair, over kitchen sides) and is a right madam. Going to give Meg a run for her money when she's all grown up!

Here are the little monkeys:

Twinkle - unfortunately, he was misidentified for the first week and called a girl :( sorry Twinks. Twinkle also seems to have slightly longer fur than the other two and he likes getting all ruffled when he's cuddled :)

Aww they look so cute. Will you be keeping them all? I wouldn't be able to help myself if it were me lol

We're not 100% sure yet. Have to try and charm our Mum into it if we do keep the two boys! I'd personally love to keep them all as they're adorable and finding homes with knowledgable people we trust is going to be difficult but we don't have an awful lot of space :( we have a few weeks yet to figure it all out, so plans may change a lot in that time. At the moment we're just enjoying their cuteness :)

Thank you :) they are absolutely adorable! These are our first baby piggies so baby care and feeding is all new to us. I thought adult piggies were cute enough but these guys are just toooo sweet <3 Here they are at cage cleaning time today in their temporary box.

They are beautiful

They are gorgeous! If you do keep any then you certainly need to keep a girl to keep Meg company (sure i read she was alone) as they are social animals then need to be with a friend. :)

Yes, I think we will be keeping Missy to go with Meg. Think my sister's plan was to get her a friend but then we discovered she was pregnant so decided to wait. We just have to decide whether to keep the boys or find a good home for them.

I was looking forward to seeing Meg and the Meglets! They are all soooooo soooooo beautiful

Can't wait to see more of them, glad you are keeping one for Meg to live with.

The little ones are 12 days old today and all approaching 170g. They seem to have evened out at around 8-11g gain per day. Can't believe how fast they're changing, they more even more like adult piggies today than yesterday! Meg also continues to grow, despite nursing the Meglets. So proud of how well she is coping :)

Think this might be the cutest photo of Twinkle in existence!

Missy is a bit of a poser, I fear.

And as for this chap...is it normal for a baby to like the sound of his own voice?! He wheeks and squeaks and shrieks all day long in a really loud really 'yay me' kind of way!
