I was giving Meg a hug earlier and she was her normal cheeky self playing with me then i noticed a bad patch of skin on her face. I'm totally shocked by it as its very big (bigger than the pics make it look and its got scabs on it). I dont know how long its been there but it cant be long as i check them over very reguarly. They have all recently been treated for mites and the wounds (that were not on meg they were mainly on squirrel) have all healed so I'm sure its not mites.
What could this be? i really hope there not fighting and i dont see how as the others are fine and megs by far the biggest out the group.
What should i do? Shes booked in at the vets for tomorrow morning but wanted your advice.

Heres her bad patch

i would really appricaite any advice x

ye big clump of blood :( i dont understand though as theyve all been treated. Ive done as said on the bottle and carried on the treatment 2 weeks later as advised. the rest now have no mite marks. Cant wait to get her to the vets

hope its not mites as that means the stuff ive used onthem all doesnt work. then again its better that than a bite as there all best mates. x

What have you used Chez? I've recently treated mine for mites with bimectin but I'm not convinced it's as good as ivomec super!

Poor Meg, could be fungal or possibly ringworm looking (hoping i'm wrong though!) good luck tomoz at the vets, fingers crossed hun! x>>x>> for the girls :)

I have to agree that it looks like mites. It may be worth asking the vet to check their skin under ultraviolet light (I think!) for ringworm,
although this isn't 100% positive! My boys had what I thought was mites & we treated them for quite sometime as mites (by we I mean me & the vet!) mallethead

The ultraviolet light test was negative & only a skin scraping proved positive. Let's hope it's not that as the treatment was 4 baths - 1 every 3 days in an ointment. Trust me - they take some time to come round after that! Even cucumber & parsley wasn't enough!! :{grrrr

Let's hope it goes well tomorrow

How did you treat the mites, Chez? Sometimes it takes three doses, 10-14 days apart, to really deal with the problem. Fungal is also a possibility.

the doesnt know. shes given me cream that dogs use for there ears and its out of stock so I'm back there tomrrow. I'm not impressed. I'm fed up of paying out a fortune for people guessing grr
