Tomorrow is Merab’s big day.
She is being spayed by Kiri who did Jemimah’s spay a few weeks ago.
Merab is over 6 years old and there is also the possibility of an underlying issue as well as the ovarian cysts.
Jemimah is going for company and I will have an anxious few hours until I know Merab is ok.
I have found recent threads from other members helpful and encouraging, especially @dannif_piggies who also had an older girl spayed.
I will be glad when tomorrow is over and I can concentrate on Merab’s recovery

Fingers and toes crossed for Merab tomorrow. I hope it all goes well and helps bring her a better quality of life

More good wishes coming your way. Hope everything goes well and she's back home with you quickly.

Good luck at the vets & healing vibes by the truck load being sent to the Gorgeous Merab :luv:
Have you prepared her packed lunch of hay, veggies & a few favourites... red pepper/carrot tops/grass to get her munching again when she comes round in recovery?
Make sure she has enough painkillers to make her comfortable when she gets home.

Fingers and paws all tightly crossed for her (& you-- a strong coffee and a hug is probably needed too? :)) xx

Hoping all goes well! Please keep us posted!

I understand exactly how you're feeling right now, a very anxious time, I'm so glad that you've found my thread so helpful. This was never mentioned in my thread but the vet actually found some abnormalities during Honeys op, they do not know what this was but they took as much of the uterus away as possible.

I wish you and Merab, all the luck in the world, and Honey and Willow are sending lots of wheeking love to you and Merab!

Old aged pig to old aged pig, Honey says "you can do it Merab!"

Please do keep up updated 💖

Hope all goes well, huge hugs to you and lots of healing vibes to your beautiful lady x x

Hope it goes well and Merab has a quick recovery

Thank you everyone for your best wishes and support.
Sadly the underlying issue turned out to be several fluid filled cystic lumps throughout her abdomen and groin area.
Despite the skill and care of the vet it was just too much for Merab and she died under the anaesthetic.
I collected her and Jemimah a short while ago.
Jemimah was happy to be back with the others.
I put Merab in the cage so they could acknowledge her death in their own way.
It was bittersweet to watch Priscilla licking a paw.
She has now been buried in the garden next to Keziah.
I will post a tribute on the Rainbow Bridge thread later.
