My 5 years old Mererid needed a spaying operation today for her fast growing, large non-hormonal ovarian cysts, which haven't caused any symptoms apart from their size.
With Gethin's expensive emergency lump operation earlier this month, last week's holiday and baking for Saturday's TEAS fundraiser in Northampton, finding the time/financial balance to avoid any cysts bursting by waiting too long has not been easy...
Her sister Morwenna needed a spay earlier in the year for a hard ovarian cyst likely to turn cancerous in old age, so the two have caught up with each other again. Sadly they are one of my boar-proof sow pairs...

Anyway, Mererid has thankfully come through her operation well and will hopefully recover without any problems over the next two weeks!
Without her cysts, she will hopefully fill out again in good time (her recent weight gain is entirely up to her cysts while she herself has actually lost weight).
