My sister was holding Merlin when he wriggled out of her hands and fell onto the concrete outside! :( His nose is bleeding a bit but we have calmed him down and wiped of the blood and it was grazed.... We have been holding him inside for a while now and he seems to be ok but should we be taking hiom to the vet for a check-up to make sure that there is no broken bones/ internal bleeding... i am going to check his teeth now..... :(

We have checked his teeth and they seem fine although we couldn't get proper look at the top ones as he kept trying to bite when we were checking them... :{ He seems to be eating and using his teeth easily (He keeps wheeking-Very LOUDLY- for more grass and carrot).... He has been walking around a bit but but he hasn't been using his back legs much- only stretching and his tummy seems a bit warm..... maybe that because he's inside though.... should we be taking him to the vet or should we be just wiping up his poor nose? :( Are there any tips on how to keep his nose clean? P.s: We have popped him back in the hutch with his bro so that he remains calm.... He is running around normally so we hope that it's a good sign....

If he's not using his back legs properly, then he should see a vet. Also a warm and/or swollen or bloated tummy could be a sign of internal bleeding and should be checked out

I would definitely take him - think how you would feel if anything untoward develops. Don't want to make you feel any worse, but a fall like that would be like us falling a fair few feet I would imagine :(
Hope Merlin's ok and sending hugs x>>

I echo what others have said. Take him to the vet if you can if only to be on the safe side.

If he had broken anything, I imagine you would be able to tell very quickly but if he isn't using his back legs properly, he could have sprained them or banged them badly.

For the cut on his nose, boil some water in the kettle, leave it to cool down and wipe his nose clean.

(((hugs))) for Merlin and for you xx

Took Merlin to the vets and all went well- no injuries (except for nose) and the vet was very sure that he was alright- just said that we should keep an eye on him. Thanks to all for the advice! :) x

Well done on getting him seen so quickly. Must have been a shock all round.

Kisses for Merlin. xx>>>

So glad you got to see a vet today, falls can be very serious. Keep an eye on Merlin's eating, it's very common for teeth to be broken in a fall and if they have snapped above the gum line it will be a few days before they become loose.

oh bless him! This happened with my Bumble and scared the life out of me, I took her to the emergency vet as I didn't dare leave her but she was fine. No broken bones. Her tooth broke above the gumline and came out a few days later but luckily only the one and her bottom teeth didn't over grow. The only thing we had was metcam for her to help with the pain so she could eat normally
