What a couple of days!

The rescue was supposed to take in a lone boar who was living outside but sadly he passed away before he could be rescued and transported closer to me.

Then lots have since come up, 2 baby girls, 1 with a nasty skin issue.

2 baby boars living outside, no hay! Also with another solo young boar also living outdoors with no hay. Finally another boar (1 1/2 years old) again outside with no hay - how on earth these lads have survived is beyond me! All being well I plan on pairing up the 2 lone boars, I do have 2 baby boars if that doesn't work out.

But for now we are totally and utterly OVER full. I have cages piled up everywhere, 2 foster carers and until Friday 1 lone boar is in a crate. Such a busy time!

BIG HUG

And those are the lucky pigs... It breaks my heart when I think in what awful conditions many piggies and other pets have to struggle to survive in weather like this! I can only wonder why so many people cannot be bothered to sort something out before the winter hits?

You and all the other rescue people are doing a great job!

WOW! You are doing AMAZING! Thank goodness these piggies had you to come to. Goodness knows what would have happened if the rescue wasn't running. :( Those boars are very lucky because having no hay in this weather... they must have been freezing! You're doing a fab job. :) xx

Is Christmas the busiest time for rescues or is it after? Just curious? :)

Ditto what everyone else has already said xx>>>

Bet those poor boys think all their Christmases have come at once. Beats me how on earth people think that any animals can survive outside in these temperatures with absolute esstentials like at least mountains of warm snuggly bedding ........................rolleyes:(

Teresa xx

Claire I am not counting!

It's full full full.

Come Friday we will be 3 cages over capacity. But at least I can sleep knowing that the boars will be warm. Christmas eve its due to be minus 8 again, if I didn't take them in I wouldn't sleep that night for sure.

This is my first xmas as a rescue. I was this busy end of Sept and tearing my hair out. I have since got a couple of family members helping out but planning on getting it back down again to a more manageable number, as long as the right homes come up of course.

x

oohh i remember how mad it can be at times, and i was ready to pull my hair out too:)) tis very hard especially when you have fungal pigs in that need to be kept away from others, completley throws everything out the window, and when bonded pairs fall out and you dont have enough room:...:...

think the most i had in at one time was 62:... never ever again, it was really hard and did it all on my own:... concidering i only had room for 27:...:...

was part of a big rescue origanly there was only 12 but ended collecting 18, most were preg, plus the ones i already had in:...

I'm so glad they are in a nice warm place and hope you all have a lovely xmas...

you should be proud knowing that you've saved so many little ones.
I'm sorry about the little boy you couldn't rescue in time, though.

All I can say is...You're doing a great job.
Without you, those little guys would be in trouble. It's hard work, I bet, you have more than enough room in your heart....Just not enough room in your house :{

Firstly wow well done to you xx you're doing an amazing job (as are all rescues).
Why are people so horrible to do something like that, it's beyond cruel:( poor little piggies.
I was in my local p@h recently and they've had 8 boars sent in to be rehomed over a period of a week and a half.
I find it hard to believe I really do that someone could rehome a pet for a stupid reason such as I don't have the room, surely they had the room for it to start with.
I feel really guilty as I don't have any room to rehome boys, their little faces squished up to the glass in the rehoming bit broke my heart.
My friend and I were only talking about this dumping animals situation this afternoon and both of us ended up :(.
In fact I told her about all the hamsters up for adoption and she's going to have a look tonight or tomorrow, she a sucker for a sob story just like me.

Well done for taking all these poor piggies in. I was really saddened to see that the poor boar had passed away (I was on the facebook thread convincing Madeline to go and get him!). It makes me so sad and so angry and so frustrated.
Glad your family are helping out to make it a bit easier on you. Alyson x

well done on taking these poor piggies in and saving them from the cold weather, I'm also full and am currently sharing with approx 80 piggies, i took 4 more girls in last week without really having the room but at least i know they are safe.
