Messy drinking, draining 32 oz a day, bedding a mess

We have a new Aby who is a very messy drinker (water bottle). We know it's not the bottles, it's her. We use pellet bedding...it makes a huge mess...it's awful. Does anyone have any idea for managing this? Thanks!

I’ve had a problem similar in the past, where the wood shavings were damp but it was the water bottle which was dripping slowly after they had a drink. With the water bottles, they need to be filled to the brim otherwise they can leak as they don’t develop a good enough vacuum for the ball in the spout when only half full for example.

When you say it makes a huge mess what do you mean? Is she wet on her chin a lot? -that could mean a dental problem. But I’m no expert.

It just soaks all the pellets and turns them into wood shaving mush very quickly I'm trying out putting a disposable diaper under it and under a few of the pellets to hold it down.

U can get little mats for this waterproff at the bottom and flesee type at the top x
