In 2019, just before we were due to move from Marlborough to Wirral I popped into PAH for something and in the adoption centre spotted a sign saying’ My name is x. I can’t live with other guinea pigs.’
Piggy was in hiding. Blood boiled but head said we already had 3 sows and we were about to move house. Following day head was totally overruled by heart and back to PAH. I went to rescue piggy from a lonely life.
I finally saw him, fell in love, politely refrained from telling staff that they had no idea and it was entirely down to them that piggy had been bullied again.
Micah told me name on the way home.

Micah was a pathetic scrap initially but so cute. He had a rough neutering as he developed a scrotal abscess within a couple of days and needed a second op to deal with it.
We moved house while Micah was still in the early stages of recovery. The piggies were boarding with @PigglePuggle while we moved so on arrival at their house Micah was claimed by Piggy Daddy who cuddled him back to health.
In his new home Micah lived in an adjoining cage, separated from the girls by extra high grids.
He tried very hard to break through and when the great day finally came and Micah joined the ladies his excitement was through the roof.
He didn’t know whether to hump them, rumble, strut or popcorn so did everything!

He loved all his wives but he and Phoebe had a particularly close bond. Her eyes were very well licked!

He discovered that tunnels were to be slept on and hay made a wonderful nest
His weight rapidly increased and he became a hefty hunk of piggy.
He had no manners and was not at all dignified in his behaviour.
He was full of character and bounce. His enthusiasm earned him several facefuls of pee.
He lost his first wives, Jemimah, Phoebe and Priscilla.
He gained 2 more, Naomi and Ruth and eagerly demonstrated what a handsome hunk of rumbly boar he was.
Ruth became the beneficiary of many enthusiastic eye licks.
Towards the end of last year he started losing weight and an indeterminate mass was diagnosed.

We discovered he was a banana addict as we tried to boost his weight and for a while he rallied.
Sadly, last weekend he took a sudden and dramatic downturn and died peacefully in hos own home with Ruth looking after him

Micah is going to leave a huge hole in my heart, my gorgeous handsome hunk who could rumble on, and on and on.
