I wondered if anyone had ever had cultures done from an abscess.

Rocky has been on antibiotics too long for this to be done. I asked Gina if it was a staphylococcus infection, but she said it was more likely to be pasteurella.

Anyone know what bacteria have caused abscesses?

Not yet!

However, I thought cultures could be done at any stage - I know they can in humans as if the infection is still there it'll be because it's changing and fending off the antibiotics...that's what happened with my ear anyway and they changed the antibiotics about 15 times!

Will ask the question and see what answers I get!

I know it is stating the obvious but have a look on Google.

I asked my vet and she looked it up in a book but it wasn't in there. If anyone has had lab tests done or finds the answer on google let me know!
