We finally had a break through with Midnight the weekend. Those of you who have read my other threads will no some of the problems we have had. Midnight came from P@H and unknown to us brought a URI to our herd (result we have lost 2 piggies to related URI).

However, this is about Midnight, we chose her on the 28th January as she seemed to be the lonely one of the group that was on display, hiding under a log. From the start she seemed quite timid but we have been patient, handling daily and trying to give lots of TLC. One habit she had from the start (possibly learnt from P@H) was to grab some veg and take it back to a hidey to eat.

When we went away at Easter (and also the days before) we noticed that both Twinkle and Midnight seemed more chilled and relaxed in the Caravan. Although the cage is smaller, the fact that we were all closer in the caravan seemed to make them more content.

This has continued back in the living room and Midnight now eats the veg along with Star and Twinkle (who has always been super confident) but we have never heard her wheek.

Then on Saturday morning when we started preparing breakfast we heard not just Star and Twinkle but another wheek could be heard. We were so chuffed. Then when we had her out for lap time (or in my case resting on my "parcel shelf" due to too much real ale) we could hear her actually chirruping and purring.

We have also learnt she likes being tickled just behind her ears as she gives a little rumble.

And here she is

Aww what a beautiful girl Midnight is. How lovely to see her becoming more confident and happy.

That is really great news! I'm so pleased, it takes time but they get there in the end, now she has found her voice you may wish the opposite :))

She is a little stunner, try rubbing her belly, my toffee loves it aswell as her ears head and nose.

So glad your little one has found her voice, she really is a pretty girl, love the flashes of ginger on her nose...

So glad that your little one is finally finding her confidence! Some simply take longer.

Well as we passed our RSPCA home visit the next step is to choose a neutered boar and then to bond them (be another 5 weeks).

The position we are in is that Star is now the oldest (2 1/2 approx) and Twinkle and Midnight are around the 4-5 month age. Star was never dominant and when we had the others the pecking order was Sunshine, Junior and Moon with Star almost the runt. Star is a very chilled out piggy.

Hopefully having a boy will help Midnight.

Congrats on passing your homecheck!
