Aw so she’s a good girl! Bella... well not so muchFortunately Jezzy floof loves the vet, she's a big cuddle monster who likes the attention! We'll be going to our local vet who are very good with piggies, they've operated on 3 of my others before.
Think my daughter was a bit insulting too, when I told her how we'd got on at the vet her exact words were "so not cancer, saggy boob chafing! That's great!"Back from the vet with Jezzy, she is fine but not keen on the new vet we saw today!
He seemed quite knowledgable about piggies, I explained our worries about ovarian cysts or other middle aged lady lumps and bumps and he knew what I was talking about and gave her a good check up and felt her ovaries and all round her nipples and inspected all her bald patches.
Jezzy was not impressed that he made some rather insulting comments about her nipples and tummy dragging on the floor! "Quite a tummy" he said. The cheek of it! Jezzy was not amused.
Anyway he agreed with all the other vets who have ever seen Jezzy for anything that she has very sensitive dry flaky skin. And what's going on with her patchy tummy fur and nipples is the same as her feet, eczema/dermatitis type thing not helped by her wee sitting/toilet sleeping habits.
More frequent bum baths and gorgeous guineas moisturising products recommended, and he said that piggy ladies her age or older should get their ovaries felt by a vet every 6 months just in case.
Sounds like very sensible advice, but the tummy comment! No middle aged lady of any species wants to hear a chap say that their health problems are caused by their fat tummy and nipples dragging on the floor, that is just rude! Need to work on your bedside manner young man!
