Millie and Marney Thread

Marney is storming up to the grids whenever I walk by their cage. She demands snacks, begs for petting, and does probably hundreds of laps around the room a day. Even when in the cage she is often running, popcorning, and wheeking or begging for attention from owner. She is 2 years old.
Millie is very gentle and reserved toward people . She appreciates taking food from your hand and she eats more than any pig I’ve had. Constant hay, veggie snacks and some pellets. Oxbow. She is 3.5+ years old. She is dominant over Marney when feels like reminding her she’s boss sometimes.

I have them in an l-shape c and c cage. A 2x7 essentially.

Indeed that is super confident, super happy, super friendly, attention craving Marney lol. She’s a trip. Entertains me daily.

I still have my herd too. I am about to do an updated photo shoot and check in with them. The Galadriel Herd - Arwen, Eowyn, Tauriel, and Spice!

Fresh hay time!

Marney has a brown spot on her backend. If you can Notice she’s white hair with a patch of brown at the end.



So Millie has been dominating Marney on and off, it’s mild to intense where Millie is glued to attempting to Mount but Marney just runs away. She will squeak loudly at her. For even longer, Millie always wants to take her hide whichever one she has. Marney protests at her and doesn’t budge from it. There seems to be a great deal of tension between them. There’s loud purring back and forth too.

In the cage Marney still entertains herself and avoids Millie but Millie still tries to show she is the boss she just can’t keep up with The Marnster!


I couldn’t get a better vid as whenever I get closer and higher to the cage Millie stops . I wanting to kind of show to everyone who Millie tries to dominates her.

She is bossy but she’s a pretty lady. She hears the hay bucket now. She had the worst tilt wobbling staying in one side her left. Now she’s good as new off Antibiotics.

What beautiful girls you have, I’m glad they have settled down together now. To us it can look a bit mean but in their world it’s all part of piggie life

Got back from taking Marney to vet. She has bladder stones. She is on oral pain medication. And antibiotics for an accompanied UTH.

She’s not eating much really. Still peeing blood . Her cage mate Millie who is about 6 years old now is losing tons of weight too but she’s eating more than Marney. Sign

No but it wouldn’t hurt to do the poop soup. It replaces the good gut bacteria from antibiotics right?

Yes, it's a natural probiotic.

When I’ve had a sick piggy as well as poop soup and syringe feeding I’ve put a small ramekin dish with the critical care and a bit of mashed banana stirred in, into the cage.
It helps encourage the piggies to eat for themselves and supplements anything else you’re doing.

Marney and Millie couldn’t be in better hands than yours.

Urgh bladder stones. I had a fit 2.5 year old male piggy pass after stone surgery. I’m sending massive hugs and healing vibes.

Marney is biting at Millie now. Millie going near her like stresses her out to the point where now, she’s biting at her face when she tries to go near her hide.

Woke up this morning and she ran out for veggies and then for pets. Her appetite back. She hasn’t bled on the fleece today either. Here’s a shot of them today. Her coat rougher than normal because she hadn’t groomed in the past few days. Better than yesterday so she might be grooming when I don’t see.

She is herself. She is coming up to bars wanting to be petted and eating good again!

Marney is different. She enjoys handling and being petted from above too since I got her. The lady at the rescue says she was like that there too. But she is scared of other pigs her cage mate Millie who is now always harassing her. Marney constantly is squeaking at her in submission. She scared to death of her now , but she loves humans.

Which makes me ask can you do the side by side split grids with girls? Or just a boar method?
