PAMELAKT
Adult Guinea Pig
So, came home at lunchtime today to
Find Rodney lopsided. Head tilting to the right. Not really moving. Raced him to vet no sign of ear infection, mites, teeth perfect, no lumps, eyes & nose fine. Thought his reflexes on right not so good.
Suspected stroke or brain lesion. Not hopeful at all. Can try anti biotic in case of underlying infection but thinks likely he will need to be put to sleep.
Rodney was 100% fine this morning & has polished off everything he was given to eat.
Took him home, gutted. Only lost his brother a month ago. Put him in cage, and off he ran giggling.
Opened the fridge, out popped the now not tilted head. He's polished off some cucumber & is strutting about completely normally like I imagined the whole thing! I rang the vet who is stunned.
Could this be a mini stroke?! I'm starting to wonder if I just woke him up too quick! He was def acting weird & tilted & didn't move an inch in car or at vets.
He's had a baytrill jab & I've a weeks worth to give him...
