I have one piggie, George. He came with a double hutch of 3ft with his rabbit friend (since seperated). The hutch was in real bad condition the bottom was written off and the floor of the main hutch had to be replaced. So now what? He is in a temperary hutch with legs on that could be made into a double again. What do you think? Advise me please so I can whip the hubby into shape.

Also I want to attach a run to the hutch, how big shall I go? I want at least another piggie to go with him.

cage size

i would say for a run around 4-6ft to have fun in. for a hutch single storey the smallest you can go is 4ft long by 2ft wide for 2 piggies, take into account for 2 piggies you need 2 bottles, 2 food bowls, 2 beds, toys, hidey holes so they need room to move.
hoping this has helped, i would say if you had 4ft cage with 3ft run that would be ample room for 2 piggies.
have you tried C&C cages thread up top of housing, they are available in the UK (NOT IN OZ grrrrgrrrrgrrrr) and you can get them from target and just join them together. here is a link for you
http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17001 here is another link with a C&C cage put together i got from the photo gallery, it has vetbed in it( pinky red stuff) which is easy to clean and keeps piggies warm (AGAIN NOT AVAILABLE IN OZpow-powpow-pow) hoping this has helped, from what i can gather C&C's cages are cheap to make. good luck!:rose:rose
