Oh no, not me asking for advice again!
One of my RHA papers asks: "under what weight will a guinea pig not survive?" Now, I know all the weights they should be, but does any one have and idea what the absolute minimum wight for a pig would be? It'll be different for each individual I guess though :)

i'm not sure but our vet did tell me they can cope with losing a surprisingly huge amount of weight, even getting through ops etc at these lower weights better than you'd think they would. so not sure that helps but it must be quite low :)

I think it depends on the individual pig but I have always been told that once they get to about 500g things can start to shut down and that certainly was the case with my Phoebe. I have known of smaller pigs make a full recovery though.

It is individually very different for every guinea pig and very much depends on its size and body structure. Some piggies reach that limit at over 800g whereas runts or generally small piggies can be going well at just over 600g and may dip below 600g in an illness or old age down towards 500g. However, generally 600g seems to be limit below which there is generally no comeback from. I haven't seen an adult guinea pig survive once the weight dipped towards 500g - that is half the textbook average body mass.
