hehehe!:yahoo: no pics of the EVENT, because my stupid camera's battery is over just now that BOTH my piggies are DRINKING some drops of water from the bottle...
you may ask: where is the news? the news is that they have never drunk in all their life (7 months now!). They used to eat wet vegs and grass (I spray it with some water) and to drink 2-3ml in the evening, by syringe, just for pleasing me. No bottle and no bowl... no water in 7 months. Despite the hot and the AC which keeps the air dry.
Last week I started offering the bottle to them, during cuddle time... I added some cranberry drops inside (which they love), but only Calliope drank some DROPS from that horrific object; Calipso turned around her head, definitely not interested. I had to give it up...:soz:
This evening I was busy hence they had no cuddles... and no syringes. I am still here at pc, they are in their cage, when I started hearing the typical noise of the bottle in use!:drool::drool::drool::drool::drool:
I slowly moved close to the cage and I saw the surprise!:D:D:D:D:D:D
Well, they are not really drinking, but they are both there, next to the bottle, looking at it, trying to do something with it...
Are they only trying to destroy the bottle once for all? nibbling it as they have done with all the furniture into the cage?:hmm:
we will see tomorrow...:gp:

I am sure they are taking the mick out of me (I hope this does not sound too vulgar! I am using a dictionary...).
This morning I have found the bottle EMPTY and I exulted. But then I have realised that under the fleece there is a LAKE already absorbed...

This means that they simply emptied out all the water!:mal: maybe they are just building a pool...
I don't think they have drunk!:rant:
Now I have filled the bottle again.

You must be good to your piggy mom, she's very good to you! And works very hard too to keep you happy! :nod:
 
I suspect they have discovered Willow and Bracken's game, if you keep hitting the bottle you make it drip. They do drink from their bottles but they also spend time headbutting them. The other fun part of this game is that it irritates the slave.
 
Cheeky wee piggies. You answered my thread about this a few days ago too and I've tried your trick of putting a little drop of juice in the water. It seems to have worked - they've figured out how to use the bottle, but like yours most of it goes on the fleece, then they suck it off the fleece. At least they're getting fluids. Hope they're still as keen when there's no juice!

I tried with cranberry+water and only Calliope put her mouth on it last week here on my lap, not that interested though; Calipso said NO. I left the bottle there in the cage with some drops of cranberry and nobody went there... after one week I gave it up and I washed the bottle, filled it again with plain water and the piggies did not care at all as the last months. I guess that if only ONE piggie started drinking the other piggie would learn and copy.
I talked with the lady of the rescue, with the vet of the rescue, with another vet... they said I should not worry. I don't worry, but I see that they sometimes enjoy my offer of 3-4-5 syringes of water, therefore what it means? are they thirsty or not?
Anyway, if they are building a private pool for playing with fresh water, it is okay as well!:)
