missing claw

I gave my piggie boys a bit of a wash and brush up today...I noticed that one of my boys has a claw missing from a front toe...it is pink but not bloody and he is walking on it with no problems and let me look at his foot with out seeming to feel any discomfort, do I need to put anything on it or just keep an eye on it? I guess it will grow back...will it be ok when it grows back? I am not sure how he lost it, either in the hutch or in the run, there is no signs of blood or anything .....? any advice appreciated

My pig Linney managed to rip one of her nails off at the base where it joins the foot- no mistaking when she did it, as she bled copiously all over the place and scared the life out of me! She got it caught coming down out of the cage for playtime (we have a door they can walk down and up so they can come and go as the please.) It didn't appear to hurt after the initial squeak of pain- I put pressure on it until it stopped bleeding. After that we just watched for signs of infection- luckily it healed fine, no infection, and the nail did eventually grow back after several months.
 
Just keep an eye on it in case of an infection, as it seems to have happened some time ago. Hopefully, the nail will grow back eventually, but it may be a bit thicker. Missing nails don;t seem to bother piggies.

ive tried to get a photo of it...either piggie boy wriggles or I drop the camera! but there is no sign of blood.....seems ok so I will look twice a day when I get him in and out x thanks for your reply
