I lost my two boars within two weeks of each other in August. I have good days and bad days but today is a particularly bad day. I feel so sad and lonely without them. I've been cleaning the house today and I am missing all the guinea pig chores such as nail clipping and cleaning the cage, and not having them follow me around the house.

It's amazing how these lovely little creatures take so much of our hearts.

Thank you to everyone on this forum, you are all so supportive and reading about your piggies is getting me through this difficult time. Below is a pic of my loves Monty and Alan 💔

Sorry you're having a tough day. Your losses are still very fresh. Your boys were lovely. I bet Monty and Alan are happy over the bridge and thinking of you too 🌈

Take care. It’s early days. One day you’ll be able to remember all the good times with a smile. They are together forever. You will never forget them. They will always be in your heart. ❤️

It’s still very early days in your grieving process. Go gently - the emotions can come in waves and at the most unexpected times. Grief is the price we pay for love.

Sending you lots of love. It is so difficult isn't it. Do you think you will open your heart to some more piggies at some point?

Thank you ❤❤ yes I do think I'll have piggies again, I can't imagine not having them in my life. I start an open university course in October and we are getting married next July so I think I will wait until after the wedding when I can give them my focus, and financially will be better off as at the mo we are saving. I really miss them so much though. They have such big personalities and we had such a bond which grew over the years. Alan particularly was very shy when we first had him but he became so bold and trusting, especially in the last few years. I'm so glad I've been working from home the last year (my desk is in the pig room so they were my work colleagues!) as I've spent so many lovely moments with them in their old age 💕

Grief takes time and your losses are still fresh.
The feeling of sorrow tends to come in waves so what you feel is a normal part of the gr process.

Thank you so much this is a lovely message. It does come in waves, I can be fine all day and then something triggers a memory and I get upset again. Xx

I’m sorry, I know how you feel. I lost Lexie in December, Saffie on 12th August and Luna yesterday. No more piggies for me, I can’t cope with the losses. I loved them so much and this week has been awful as I had a horrible feeling that Luna wouldn’t be ok when I had to leave her at the vets for intensive care on Sunday. I’m going to have to be brave this weekend and dismantle the cage. My living room feels so empty without them.
