I’ve been in America longer than I thought and still won’t be home for another 1-2 months, I last saw my piggies on the 1st of March, I’ve asked before but I think people assumed I’d only be gone for a short time, my question is have they forgotten about me? will they recognise me when I come home? Just been very emotional missing my boys lately I’ve

It must be very hard for you right now being separated from your piggies. I am sure you have left them in good hands and they will be happy. Guinea pigs have much better memories than a lot of people give them credit for and yes they will remember you. When you return they won't demonstrate this like a dog would but they will definitely recognise you.

So sorry you are still away, but don’t worry your piggies will remember you. Can you get the person who is looking after them to zoom, FaceTime or Skype you so you can talk to them and see how well and happy they are x
Hoping you can get home soon x

When we were in Australia for 5 weeks last Summer my daughter was the same.
I know you have been away longer than that, but I can safley say that as soon as we got back it was 100% clear that Ruby had NOT forgotten my daughter and was very happy to see her.

Thank you all, I tried to video call them on WhatsApp and they were still getting used to my mum so they just hid whenever they heard me :( I get daily pigtures and videos which helps

I'm sure they will remember you, and if they are staying with your mum, piggies have a really good nose for who "smells right" and are their hooman's family, my lot recognise all my relatives by smell and feel safe around them- they always greet my daughter and nephews much more enthusiastically than any other visitors, even if they havent seen them for ages, and they instantly accepted my daughter's baby as an honorary herd member! :)
