Freddy crossed the rainbow bridge on Wednesday 24th June. We lost him to a horrible URI that just took him so fast. I spent a whole 24 hours nursing him to give him the best fighting chance. He sadly died in my arms at age 5 (human years).

I cannot begin to tell you how much of a blow his loss has been. It have been felt upon the hearts of all my family. We’ve all cried so many tears.

He was a very loved (and spoilt) little chap. He had such beautiful brown eyes that’s said so much. You could always tell what he wanted. He could be cheeky and adventurous but was a softie. He was a real lap piggie and would just flop on your chest for the best snuggles. Such a loving, kind soul.

Freddy leaves behind his gorgeous brother, Teddy - who is doing really well despite the loss. He was the perfect big brother, who would lead the way for him and show him not to be scared of things.

I am so sorry. I am just getting over losing Mischief and it’s so painful isn’t it. He looks adorable, a real character.
They all take a little piece of our hearts when they go and some take more than others.

Sleep well Freddy and I hope you get to meet Mischief up there, sounds like you two could get into all sorts of trouble!

Hello and :wel: wish it was in better circumstances .
What a beautiful and lovely tribute to Freddy. He sounded like a loved very much so piggie.
The hurt we feel when one dies and trotts off to the beautiful world of rainbow is the fact we care so much and sometimes only realize when this happens.
Pls feel free to write about him and check out some threads about how to cope with grief etc. 3 Years ago I did and it really helped me.
Take care.
Freddy you little love Rip. X

As guineaslave said each time we lose a piggle, a little bit of our heart does go too - but the joy and love and fun that little Freddy gave you, your family and his brother Teddy is immeasurable - all those wonderful moments and memories.
take care 🥰

Thank you everyone. It’s so lovely to have found a community who truly understands how our loss feels but also know that they’re such amazing little members of our family.

I could’ve written so much more about Freddy but it fills me with tears every time.

We adopted them when they were around 9 months old and we loved them from the second we saw them! Such different personalities but they taught each other. Freddy was confident and Would show Teddy the way. Leading him and coaxing him into mischief. Teddy is shy but loving To the core and he softened his boisterous brother to be a cuddle monster. They never fought But had the odd small noisy squabble around their teenage years. They’d just moved out of each other’s way to the get on with things. Every morning and evening they would lay side by side to sleep. So much love there. ❤️

We’ve got to quarantine Teddy for a short while and then work out what’s best for him. Xx

I’m so sorry for your loss. He looks such a handsome and happy pig in your photo. Sadly grief is the price we pay for love. We miss them so much when they go. Hugs to you & sleep tight Freddy

So sorry you lost him, it sounds like he had an amazing home with you and was very loved! It’s so hard to lose such important members of your family that mean the world. Hope you’re all ok and Teddy too x
Sleep tight gorgeous Freddy xx

That's lovely you wanting to care about Teddy. Course he may become very lonely. Pls read the threads for us humans and piggies on copying with a lost piggie.

Grief is painful but we only grieve what we love.

Be gentle with yourself.

Welcome to the forum

So sorry you lost him, he looks such a handsome piggie, sending hugs
Sleep tight Freddie 🌈

Missing Freddy a lot this evening. My children are much more grounded about things so day by day it’s getting easier. I’m a soppy mess.
I do my last check on the animals before bed and it’s just strange. The cage feels so empty without him. 😢
On a more positive note, Teddy got a brand new snuggly bed today and took an immediate liking to it! It’s all fuzzy inside so I’m happy he’ll have a nice place to curl up in. Xx

So sorry :( it really is so hard the following days when you half expect them to be there looking at you in the cage, always ‘feels’ so quiet too! It’s good Teddy seems happy, hope he enjoys his new bed snuggles! x

I am always amazed how deeply we fall in love with a whole different species and how deeply they love us. What an honour.
I am so sorry for your loss.

So sorry you have lost little Freddy.
Furbabies are such a big part of the family and when they leave us they make a hole in your life and your heart.
Massive hugs to you all and little Teddy.
Sleep tight little Freddy.xx
