Hi, my 6 year old female pig recently had a urine infection and she seems better from the infection (although I’m still waiting for her to put some weight back on) I’ve noticed she had a bald patch on her chest. Is it possible that maybe she had pulled it out due to stress or is it a fungal infection? I’ve got 2 other pigs in the cage with her and I can’t see any patches of fur missing on them.

I’ll take her to the vet obviously but can anyone tell me what they think it could be and recommend some creams that would help as it looks sore. Thanks :)

Hi!

I am very sorry. A lowered immune system can unfortunately mean that opportunists can break through.

Please have her vet checked for either mange mites or fungal (which require different treatment) and do not treat on spec to allow your vet a good diagnosis and to step in promptly with good quality medication at the appropriate strength.

It is impossible to diagnose from your picture without a hands-on diagnosis.
