My OH was looking after my 2 year old piggy today, and he noticed that one of her front teeth was missing. When I got home from work I had a closer inspection, and it is completely gone not even just snapped or broken. I'm not sure how able she is to eat, as she is a reluctant eater when she is being watched normally.

I have never had a piggy lose a tooth before, is it normal for it to come out completely or could it be trauma related?

Don't worry too much, guinea pigs teeth grow back as they are constantly growing hence why they need so much to chew on. :)

As for how it happened. It could have been a vary of things. Is she a bar chewer?

Ditto haf a tooth missing when i got him off my OH little sister a few years ago. We still dont know to this day how or where the tooth went but he has a gorgeous set of pearly whites that would make simon cowell jealous so i assure you your piggy will be fine :-) just ensure shes given soft veg such as herbs and cucumber. And maybe add some water to the nuggets and form a paste if piggy is struggling to bite and chew there pellets .. Keep an eye on the piggys weight :-)

Well her 2nd upper incisor has also fallen out now. My oh actually picked a fragment of tooth out of her mouth. She is really flat today, and has lost about 50g since my original post. I have been feeding her critical care, but it seems to have given her diarrhoea. I really hope she makes it through the night so I can take her to work in the morning and have a vet check her 8...
