Hi can anyone give me suggestion one of my guinea pigs has sore caused by mites which is being treated by vet. I been told to clean wound with iodene and put sudo crem on twice a day which I have been doing but he keeps scratching it and making it bleed so it not healing I don't know if to wrap a bandage. I have tried to find a little t shirt for guinea pigs with no success I have only had him 3 weeks I just want the wound better he is eating and drinking ok

They can be wrapped in a bandage but I would only do this if it was absolutely necessary as it is best to let the wound breathe. You can however tape the feet if needed but not too tight so as to cut off the circulation. If it gets any worse though speak to your vet about the possibility of a steroid injection or even a course of steroids to break the itch scratch cycle. Please note though that anti-inflammatory type pain relief cannot be given at the same time as steroids.

I would probably try the micropore tape over the nails of the back feet to see if that stop him opening up the wound.
