mites and carpets

hi, is looks like my rabbits might have mites and i know how to treatment them, but i will need to clean all the carpets they sleep on, do you know if i can get any stuff to treat the carpets with?

Good question...one I'm not sure of the answer to! Didn't want to read and run, will have a think/lookout for you though.
 
You can get spray for killing fleas in the house, but not sure if it's safe for rabbits. It must be safe for cats and dogs though. I'd say to ask the vet.

Or if you know anyone with a steam clean, you can get ones quite cheaply, I got one for like €35 in Argos, and used that to clean the carpets/couches when my cat had fleas.

But maybe once the rabbits are treated, any mites on the carpet will just die out?

i do hav a carpet cleaner, so i could try that.

I am not sure about the mites dying out once the rabbits are treated, but I shall ask the vets. The rabbits were due to be neutered tomorrow but my son Lewis is going in for that operation tomorrow until Friday so we have got them booked in on Tuesday now - I do have some treatment for mites and lice i can use on the rabbits, so i shall do that tonight and ask the vets on Tuesday. thank you x>> thats very kind of you - i am actually feeling quite nervous about it, even though i know Lewis will be fine - i dont like hosptials, which i am sure a lot of people dont either, but i still feel nervous
