Just giving the piggies a cuddle and bless her, Rouse let me see her teeth! So I gave her a thorough check over. I noticed that in her rossetts it was a tiny bit dry and a tiny bit of dandruffy stuff. Very small amounts and they are not all itchy scratchy. But was wondering, when my hamster had this (long before I had the piggies) I thought it might be mites so got some small animal spot on. Do you think it's worth using some spot on on my girls just in case? It's not really vet worthy as there is very little to see, just the beginnings as I say. Am worried spot on might harm them, which is daft given my hamster was fine!

Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks

When my gp had a fungal infection this is what it started off like, white flakey bits - I would keep and eye on it.

I think when guinea pigs have mites they need an ivermec injection because the mites feed on the blood? - but I'm not 100%

My guinea pigs also had static lice from bedding before which I treated with gorgeous guineas lice n easy which worked wonders!

Hmmm can't see anything moving, just tiny points of dryness at the centre of the rosette. Nothing behind the ears at all. So will try to get some gp shampoo and give them a bath ponce the weather warms up a bit. Till then will keep an eye on it. I know previous guineas have needed an injection, but theirs had small sore places too, which these do not. They are not even scratching more than the occasional and brief ones i'd expect anyway. As in probably seen them itching 3 times since we have had them!

Thanks again
