Mites!

Hi,
I picked up two piggies at the weekend, and Emily seemed to have a bit of dry skin. So i ordered some lovely shampoo from gorgeous guineas. anyway the last 48hrs her hair has been falling out, her skin is getting scabby and crusty and am pretty sure its mites. I am taking both girls to the vet in the morning at 9.20 to get treatment.

I am a bit annoyed about it all. not the mites as i know they are common thing to get but the fact the breeder said she has treated all her piggies that were in together and this clearly hasnt been the case.
 
Stress can cause mites as I discovered with my first two and had to treat them immediately when we got them home.
I would call the rescue you had them from and explain your concerns about the remaining piggies.
Hope they recover very soon :)p
 
My guinea had hair loss but it was caused by a skin infection. Let us know how you get on xx
 
I went through the whole mites thing with my first two piggies so i know what it is. I know my girls will be stressed out as they have come from a cramped hutch with 4 other piggies in it outside to living inside just the two of them. They will be getting used to the noise, the kids, the dogs. I just want my wee girls to be well x
