I was going to switch from Timothy to orchard. I thought their poo looked bigger on orchard. After a few days their poo was soft so I gave them a mix of Timothy and orchard and the poo is normal now

But they eat both. So I'm wondering if I should permanently give mix of the two.

Do they taste different? Are there different benefits to both? Or should I choose one.

It would be slightly annoying to feed two but I think I have the space for both.

What do you guys do

It’s entirely up to you and what they prefer!
There is benefit to doing two as it provides variety but also means there is an alternative they’re already used to if you can’t get one type.

I used to feed a mix or meadow and orchard but I do now just feed meadow as it’s cheaper and easier for me to get

Meadow is easier to play in but mine prefer Timothy. If they like both then there's no reason not to if you have the space.

I feed mainly meadow, but that is for quality and cost. When I have extra dosh we get Timothy for a little while 🌾

My boy is a real hay-expert and can tell you that hay taste different! when I tried meadow-hay he gave me a nasty glare, and I never seen him so happy as when he tasted oxbows Orchard&timothy-blend for the first time. Its not cheap, but little mister expensive is worth it I guess. I buy cheaper timothy-hay for "playhay" though, so the oxbow lasts for a couple of weeks (and that boy can eat...).

Rosie and your boy would make excellent partners in crime. When I commit the sin of offering up hay of the wrong brand, she will be on her tippy-toes screaming at me.

Wrong hay is good to torpeedo into, though.

What a fiesty little diva! Kongo just looks at me as he doesn't want to understand and keeps staring me until I give in and hand him something better. Or he knocks something over. I think he would love to Rumble Rosie in the cheap hay and be bossed around! He needs it.
