Hi sorry if this has been asked before but is there any nutritional benefit for either one. I know that piggies can be selective with mix so may miss out on some nutrients but the nuggets look so boring (to humans!) My girls will eat nuggets if that is all that is offered - after lots of persuading, but they definitely seem more excited about mix. What do you recommend or do you leave it to the piggies to decide - we all end up being their slaves and will do just what they want!!:))

Dindypig has both and scoffs the lot, exept for the big crushed wheat seeds.

My piggies have both. They mainly have the normal excel nuggets and the blackcurrant/ oregano ones. But when I got my girls they were on Gertie and although I did intend to swap them over completely they got so excited every time they heard the Gertie bag (and they did know which one it was :{) that I decided that I would continue with it. They only get a light sprinkle so I consider it more of a garnish :(|) but it's still causes the most excitement.

Nutritionally speaking, nuggets are preferable. My personal take is if the pigs will eat nuggets, then by all means withdraw the mix and encourage them to eat the "healthier" option.

I've had mine on various brands, and mixes, over the years, and have had them on a pelletless/nugget-free diet for a while this year, but now feed them a small amount every other day. I keep 5 different brands in so they tend not to get the same each time, or they can have two different brands at the same time - that is the best "mix" in my opinion.

Mine prefer nuggets. Sometimes if I run out then I buy mix, and they love it at first, but once they take out the tastiest bit, then they don't really like the rest. They like their nuggets too.

Maybe it's good if nuggets are a bit boring, because that way they won't scoff them, and might eat more hay and fresh food instead. :)
