just wondering can guinea pigs have tesco mixed leaf salad, it's says on the bag it is a mix of seasonal multi leaves and lists the ingredients as green multi leaf and red multileaf. I can tell by looking at it that it is not iceberg. Are there other lettuce type leaves they can't have?
I want to vary their green leaves so some days they have round lettuce and some romaine but thought the bags could be good variety and ive always got them in the fridge. Thanks

Ok thanks I was just thinking of a couple of times a week to vary it a bit, I've based my menus on ones I've found online so they have a range of round lettuce, romaine lettuce, mixed leaves, cucumber, carrot, tomato, coriander, peppers, parsley, celery etc.
I've used the chart on happy cavy which says how often they should have different things!

You are very organised.

Haha yeah I know I drive my husband mad! I'm like it with everything, and I've been mercilessly teased at work for my piggy menu! Just checked it and I have mixed salad leaves 3-4 times a week (they get veg morning and night, about a cup between the two of them)

Oooh do you have a link to where I can find the menu on happy cavy?

I got it wrong, I found the menus here which I used as a starting point, http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/threads/24770-Sample-Veggie-Menus

But then I also used the chart in the link too to help,as well as this one here http://www.happycavy.com/what-can-guinea-pigs-eat/

I've adapted it all a bit according to what they seem to like, but I've tried to take all the advice, particularly in the charts.

Does anyone know if they finish their veg really quickly, does this mean they need more? I don't want them to be hungry! I should add they have a lot of hay constantly on offer, and the daily allowance of pellets (cavy performance)
