My girls are on Wagg guinea pig crunch and they have been enjoying this since I got them nearly 18 months ago. Anyway, when I last took Connie to the vets, she asked to see their food to make sure that it was ok for them. I brought some pets at home nuggets just incase she told me they needed a plainer food. She looked at all the ingredients of the Wagg and said that it was fine and I didn't need to change. Because I am now stuck with this big bag of nuggets, I have decided to use it. Since Saturday I have been mixing it up with their Wagg so they have half a bowl of Wagg and half a bowl of nuggets. To my surprise, they actually like the nuggets and I have been waking up to a nearly empty bowl. When the bag of nuggets have gone, I am tempted to buy some more and just keep mixing it with the Wagg. I don't really want to feed them just plain nuggets as they do not selective feed and enjoy their Wagg. Am I ok to mix 2 different kinds of food and will it do them any good?

i feed mine a mix of the wagg crunch and excel (which is similar to the p@h nuggets) and they love it and are all very healthy on it.

I generally just feed pets at home nuggets but sometimes i get a bag of supa guinea excel and mix it together.
I used to always get them supa guinea excel because i thought more expensive meant tastier. My piggies do not agree! They get through loads more of the pets at home nuggets than the excel! rolleyes

Ooh and forgot to say if they like it and are healthy keep to what you are feeding them now. I have tried pretty much every type of nuggets on our piggies and always went back to p@h nuggets. They got upset tums on quite a few other types.

i think it's probably even better to mix so they dont get bored! my sonny was on a muesli type food, so i've been mixing this with supa excel ever since and i'm still on the same bag of muesli food, but getting near the end, i've only had him four months! (its still in date and was a big bag!)

Mine have a mix of Tesco purple bag moosli and Supa Exel nuggets, they seem quite happy with the variety. x

I used the p@h nuggets and both my boys really liked them. The vet has told me to cut them out though as apparently they force the teeth to move in un-natural ways, the same for all pellets and muselis. Not convinced about his advice (though clearly I'm no exotic vet!) so I'm going to try some natural (and very expensive- grrr!) pellets I've seen recommended on Galen's Garden.

mine have a mixture of p@h nuggets and science selective which is also nugget based. I am only feeding the p@h as I still have a ton left from when I bought george in december (yes still on first bag) & I got another huge bag free when I got my nero 4. I feed half and half and will continue until all the P@h stuff is gone. I don't think it does them anyharm and the science selective is always gone first!
