Adult Guinea Pig
This is really late, really really late, because all last year I couldn't sign in to the forum despite countless efforts, gave up in the end, somehow managed earlier this year but I realised I hadn't done a piece here on Rainbow Bridge for poor Molly, who died last March just before her 5th birthday.
No big trauma for Molly I don't think, thankfully. She just didn't wake up one day, although to my mind she was too young really so maybe something was wrong that we never knew about.
The thing that touched me so much the day she died, and always will, was the way her other four cage-mates all sat round her body in a semi circle and mourned her for about 4 hours. She was the oldest. Their leader. Gone.
Molly they all adored you, it was plain to see. I tell something, they don't squeak so much without you. You used to start them off, get them all excited. Now its a bit half hearted.
We adored you too, from the day we bought you (when you leapt off my husbands tummy in the garden into the hedge and he dived in and came out grasping you in his torn hands - you had us going then!), to when you broke your toe and the vet gave you a little splint (it didn't work so you had a dear little wonky toe,) and you have mothered little Rosie as if she was your own.
Molly we all love you still and miss you so much. Play with Mitzi in the meadows over the Rainbow Bridge until we all meet again. xxxxxx>>
