Molly on the right in my avatar went to the bridge yesterday evening.

she didn't eat her veg in the morning and didn't touch her dry food all day she was just lying about. she had been fine the day before but I knew something was very wrong so i watched her closely. Just after five last night she started to wobble about and I knew her time to go to the bridge was close. I picked her up and cuddled her, she had a few short fits and then went limp in my arms. I am so glad I could be there at the end for my little girl. Bridget her friend will miss her enormously.

Hi guys thanks to you all for your kind words am in tears typing this, cannot believe how much I miss her :'(

Bridget is acting very depressed without her little friend and am now worried she will go down hill. I was going to drive to worthing to see if I could rescue a sow to be a friend for Bridget but the thing is my friend who I got them from got their ages wrong and Bridget and Molly were actually six according to the vets! So Bridget is quite old and I am not sure how she would react to a new piggie. I think that I will keep her on her own and carry on giving her plenty of love and cuddles and hope she gets through her grief!

All you piggy lovers will understand what I am going to say next.....The christmas tree is where their cage usually goes and as we didn't want to move her to a different room as this would unsettle her further she is in the middle of the lounge! Not very attractive but we want what is best for poor Bridget :smitten:
 
Aww Kaz, hope Bridget picks up for you. An older Sow would probably take to a babe, you could take her to a rescue and see how she copes. :)

Many thanks Louise, I know you have only been all through this recently with little Cuzzy.

I did think of a babe but Bridget is so bossy she bossed poor little Molly around even though they had been together all their life and I was worried about how a babe would react to that.

She is a right little character our Bridget most of the time she loves a head rub but if she not in the mood she will make the same rumbling noise she made at Molly when she was giving her unwanted attention!

Must admit I wouldn't have taken them on if i had known their real age, more heartbreak to come when bridget passes to the rainbow bridge.

I didnt get older pigs at first because I was worried about that, but then my Graham passed away at 4 months, so I think its just as nice to have older ones.

I hope you find a way to get Bridget a friend. xx

A week on and we are getting there, Bridget is being absolutely spolit rotten. She sat on my lap today and for the first time since we have had her she actually went to sleep!

She is really focusing on us now and as she is in the lounge her little eyes follow us everywhere, especially when we go in the kitchen LOL! Trouble is everytime anyone opens the fridge she goes mad....Spolit her abit too much me thinks!

Wait til she has her xmas dinner from pampered piggies!
