as some of you maybe be aware monkey had a bladder stone removed thursday and while he is back to eating which is great ive not seen him take a drink when i wash his veggies i leave them wet and ive been giving him cucumber and water when he has he meds but they finished today any ideas how i can get him back to the bottle?

Aw bless him, glad to hear hes eating :)

Cant help you with the bottle thing other than to possibly put a bit of cranberry juice in the water (Ocean Spray light)? Rod loved it and would drink loads of it when it was in his bottle.

Not sure if that helps x

hello hun thanks for message we tried this and they didnt touch the bottle lol picky little pigs. tonight ive got him out and dropped water into his mouth but i dont want to keep distressing him its been a hard week for us both I'm hoping he is getting enough moisture from his veg

This was taken on one of the many nights I would lie on the floor with him while I was reading the paper, he would come and lie next to me :)
:)
Ive got loads of pics, so will be changing my avatar a lot to try and show them all off lol

ahh hun he was a very beautiful boy you are lucky to have had so many special times with him. rip little man xx

I really would not worry about him not drinking water. You are giving him cucumber and that is full of water. My girls NEVER drink water! They are all healthy and are getting water from the cucumber they have each morning and other vegetables like romaine lettuce. I am sure he would drink if he was thirsty.

hello i rang the vets today and they said that he would get water from veggies but to syringe some water in when i give metacam. she said also when animals are dehydrated when you pitch their neck area it would stay up rather than flatten least i think thats what she ment either way i did this and it went down and didnt stay up, was just a gentle squeeze pitch sounds awful. :^-. but he seems bright is interested in his food etc so and his wound looks quite clean.

Great to hear that he is doing well and his wound is healing. Kisses for him x>>
