As some of you were so kind with your advice yesterday i thought that i would come and pick your brains again.

Ive not managed 2x hair cuts (just doing a bit at a time) and realised that one of the little piggies isn't just black he has some lovely colouring hidden under all his hair. There getting a lot more confident and manage to pick one up with no issues.

I'm off to pick them a run up tomorrow so they are fast becoming spoilt.

I'm just concerned about there diet...what should i be feeding them how much etc etc

Sorry for the silly question but I'm new to piggies

thanks in advance

A good piggy diet consists of guinea pig specific pellet food (the amount depends on the piggies age, do you have any ideas on that?)

Unlimited good quality hay

And 1 cup full of mixed fruit and veg per piggy per day :)

I hope that helps!

No names as of yet, but been on the internet and believe they are Sheltie. Ive been feeding them carrots and green beans today they go mad for the beans bless them. They also have plenty of hay so i guess I'm on the right track

Ive also found an amazing hutch shaped like a fire station, they could be little fire piggies lol. But that will have to wait till pay day..

I'm going to get them there shampoo this weekend too :) . My husband hasn't even met them yet as he works away during the week. Infact i haven't even mentioned we have new family members

I'm unsure of the piggies age but they are rather large males,

If they are around or over 1kg, they have probably finished growing, so pellets can be limited to around 1 egg cup full per day. :)

That hutch sounds awesome! Just make sure its the RSPCA minimum size of 2ft by 4ft (thats for a pair) :) Because lots of places sell hutches far too small, and that can causes falling outs! :)

its a very large hutch with a built in run underneath, plenty of room for the piggies. I do hope they are fully grown as they are very big lol

Oh good! :) We would love to see it. :)

(the one egg cup of pellets is per piggy, sorry, i should have made that clear. mallethead )

just to add to connies post, one egg cup is plenty, dont be fooled as they will eat more if given. Dont succum lol. You'll save on the dental vet bills later :)
