More Guinea Pigs on the way :(

A guy has just been round to pick up my nero 2 which I put on ebay. He said his wife brought home a guinea last week and it's pregnant! They are going to keep them I think but it is the same story all the time with unknown pregnancys from petshops etc.. rolleyes

He was worrying about having up to 7 babies but I assured him average would be 2/3

Its awful, there are signs up in my local pet store saying they cant guarantee the sex of the small animals. That means they will mix them in the cages and pregnancies will happen :...

It makes me so ANGRY that places sell piggies when pregnant, I feel sorry for the people who buy pregnant piggies without knowing and have to put up with 5 at a time!

It happened to me, and still feel guilty of having to take them to a rescue when I couldn't find anybody who'd take them on and I couldn't keep them because my mother-in-law had just had a stroke and we were popping up to Wales all the time.

Though, in all fairness, I enjoyed the babies so much!

I think i would enjoy the babies a bit too much though and would be stuck forever with millions of piggys,....

That doesn't sound so bad now come to think of it... i prefer them to humans anyways...

I wanted to say they would need a bigger cage really but. He had bought it from me! It will do for the babies for a while anyway til they get a bit bigger
