Watching him today, I noticed that he walks and sits on his back heels rather that walking flat. Is this normal? He doesn't seem in pain or anything but he is scared of going up a ramp to his veggie bowl and when he gets the courage he slips and slides everywhere. However, Ruffles can go up and down the ramp perfectly.

Help!?

If you look underneath his feet, you'll see that this is perfectly normal - that's where he is padded!

Does Ruffles walk in the same way? How old is Rufus? Does he show any signs of stiffness at all, especially after he gets up?

I do find some pigs walk much higher on the foot than others, but walking so far back on the hocks (as opposed to the paw and the front of the hocks) that the movement looks odd may suggest something. Odds are that it's normal though.
