Boss Hogg......at least you were not working on the M2 the other day when the sink hole opened on it!

could be anything, normally an underground stream slowly washing soil away under the surface, all of a sudden, the thin crust of soil collapses, exposing a deep smooth shaft!

There was one in Loughborough last year. I thought it was a hell mouth! I watch too much scifi/fantasy.

The weather is actually scaring me tonight :( i have never known such a cluster of storms as this.

And to think I was complaining of a little bit of windy rain on my walk home from the pub tonight! :/

I can't believe just how lucky we've been in Glasgow missing all the horrific weather - we've had a relatively mild winter compared to previous years and have certainly not been experiencing half the horror weather everyone else in the country has.

Hope everyone is staying safe and this weather relents sooner rather than later

I am SO thankful that other than some rain my area is completely fine. It's like any other down pouring day.

looks like the worst is over, I drove past a tree that had blown down on my way home this evening and our gate is well and truly smashed to pieces but luckily ive not heard of anyone I know getting hurt, my piggies are safe and sound indoors. i'm glad I live on a hill!

I made it in to work ok, I m still there now but heading home in an hour.

The roads were eerily quiet last night with lots of rubbish flying around.

My guinea pigs run is trashed by the looks of it. I wanted to buy a new one anyway.

It was very bad on Teesside last night but much calmer now. Hope it's like that on my Piggy Train mission to the Midlands today. Everything on schedule at present just got to go North first to pick-up 51 piggies & 2 bunnies. Then next stop Walsall.

Stewybus I am hoping for good calm weather whilst you tranport the rescues!

Cant believe the pictures I saw on the news of Staines on Thames :( Its unbelievable, really quite shocking.

Agreed with @Stewybus on the weather here, half the beach and the contents of most peoples bins/yards were out my front this morning! And the chimneys were making a right noise last night plus fell over getting out of my car last night got caught by the wind and tried to save the car door getting blown haha

Tree down on the road coming home from work today - wind really really bad here now - river will go again tonight or in the morning at the bottom of the high street - probably wont bother going into work until later in the morning if its like this - who wants to go gift shopping in this weather? - only the mad or the ones who forgot valentines day!

Just a thought. I live not far from areas hit in Berkshire (30-40 mins from chertsey/datchet). If anyone has been flooded and needs temporary accommodation for small furries then let me know. Happy to help if I can.
