Moses and Miriam

Hello forum friends.
Tomorrow we’re going on our holiday to Aunty Karen.
Mummy has said she’s going to weigh us before we go and when we come back.
Moses always loses weight when we go on holiday. He likes staying at home really but I’ll look after him.
We’ll see you when we come home again
Love from Miriam

I hope Mummy and Daddy hooman have a lovely holiday too

Have a lovely holiday @Merab
Don't get too homesick Moses! Miriam will be there too keeping an eye on you, making sure Aunty Karen provides the best care!

We’re home again 🎉
We like our home and told mummy how happy we were when we went back into our own cage.
We had a nice holiday at aunty Karen’s though and we didn’t lose weight this time.
Mummy brought us a present from Vienna

IMG_4124.webp We’ve pooped in it already 😅

Thank you aunty @Viennese Furbabies for the yummy snacks you sent us.

We had our cage cleaned out today.
We were especially good and allowed mummy to stroke us while we were in the cage.
Then we had to explore and check everything out.
We ate yummy fresh hay and forage and rearranged the furniture

It seems strange that you always have to rearrange the furniture. Hasn't your mummy learnt in all this time how you like it?

We’re very excited about our new paper bag.
It’s huge and there’s lots of hay and forage in it for us.
We were very good when we we had our health checks today.
Mummy said we’re perfect which we already knew 😁

It's a shame there's pictures of bears on it though and no guineas! What was your mummy thinking about? She must have got side-tracked. It's lovely though that she put so much hay and forage into it, and that you're so happy and excited.

It is a very high quality German Steiff bag.
That compensates for the bears instead of piggies 😁

The Steiff bag lasted 6 days!
It had an enlarged front door, a side door and an indescribable floor!
It has now been suitably disposed of and replaced with another, less posh bag

How to get in the way when the cage is being cleaned.

Moses and Miriam would like to request Sir Saxon Canute to write a letter of complaint to the Steiff Bear company about the poor quality of their bags, which have clearly not been guinea pig tested.
They are grateful to aunty @Betsy and aunty @Viennese Furbabies for the suggestion

Dear Steiff Bear Company

I am writing to you in the capacity of Union Rep and Shop Steward of The Guinea Pig Union.

I thought the Steiff Bear Company meant quality, I was clearly wrong. Your bears may be superior and have been around for over 100 years but the quality of your paper bags is sadly lacking. Two of my Members have sent a complaint to me and I feel it is my duty to report the problem straight to you.

Their Hooman visited your shop in Berlin recently and chose a bear with a growly tummy that had to go in hand luggage and she hoped that she didn't have to explain to Customs why her hand luggage was making strange noises. Anyway that is by the by. The bag it was put in looked good quality but lasted less than a week (only 6 days to be precise) in their C&C Cage which is not long at all!

Let me explain about the importance of paper bags and their longevity. Some guinea pigs (if not all) just love paper bags stuffed with hay. Paper bags are an exciting, important part of guinea pig life. Paper bags are somewhere to go and hide, eat hay, sleep in, wee in, poop in and contemplate the world. Paper bags also need to be altered, we can add extra doors at the sides and at the back, for example and we can even make the front entrance a bit larger. Your paper bags clearly need to be a bit stronger to cope with all the guinea pig wee and poop so that they don't disintegrate after only a few days.

May I suggest that you have your bags Guinea Pig Approved by some of my Members who would be very pleased to give them marks out of ten (your current bags would get a 1 or 2) and give feedback and may be come up with a few ideas that would make them last longer and be of the same quality as your Steiff bears?

You can this put this Quality Mark on them
