Hi all
We don’t have a garden but I bought one tray of ready to juice/eat wheatgrass and one of barely grass for Dottie our sow which have been going down well. We didn’t feed too much at once so it’s been a gradual increase. The wheatgrass tray now has some cotton wool type mould on the bottom, I may have over watered it or not given enough light and air. We had been cutting from the top rather than pulling it out but seeing that mould this morning I’m going to discard the whole tray now to be safe. I don’t want any further issues, she’s had enough health issues, poor bub.
The barely tray (which arrived part grown so is less far along) seems fine but I’ll give that a good inspection too as it was next to the wheatgrass. Unless it’s safer to discard that too?
It’s a shame as she loves it so much and it’s sad to waste it, but I’ll try to find a smaller tray and manage it better next time. This was a rushed buy to help her after she stopped eating, and it has helped and given her pleasure so still been worth it.
Many thanks
Lucy
