Hi,
I recently got my girls some of the sticks that go in a curve to make a tunnel/hidey (seen in the picture below, between the orange houses) and I noticed last night that they appear to be going mouldy at the bottom :( I'm not sure if it's mould or urine or what? ?/ has this happened to anyone else?
Does anyone know of anything safe I could use to get rid of it?

I find that with some things in my cage, when the pigs poo and wee against something, there fur and just general dust collects on them, and i clean it all every 3 days or so, so it can happen quickly, it may just be this, the best thing to do is take it outside with a stiff brush and just wipe it off, quite roughly, and see if that helps.

thanks. Last night I panicked and took it out their cage thinking it was mould but I'm hoping its just urine stain.
Will give it a good brush and wipe down with a damp cloth and keep an eye on it.
The girls are not impressed at me taking it off them as they love to stand on top of it to wheek for food! :))

This has happened to me too, I think it's just general wee stains and gunk collecting and sticking to it!

Oh, and as for getting rid of it, how about trying vinegar? Usually does the trick for most things wee-related!

The mini pigs aren't so mini now! :-) that photo was from a few weeks ago but it was the only one I had already on the computer that showed the sticks (my description wasn't great so thought a picture would be easier)
I thought of using cage cleaner spray but wasn't sure if it was safe on wood and where they could chew it, hadn't thought of vinegar though. I might make up a diluted solution of it and wipe them with it. Thought it was odd that they appeared to be going mouldy so soon so I think it must be wee and dust etc.

I would have thought cage cleaner would be OK as long as you rinse and let it dry off properly before giving it back to the piggies, but vinegar is probably safer, just rinse whatever you use off well and it should be OK. Wooden things are a pain like that!
