Moulting?

Both the boys who were together seem to have areas where their hair is thinner than usual. Could this be due to moulting? Its not completely bald anywhere and the skin underneath looks fine. One of them does have some "bits" - dandruff type - in his hair, but he does tend to pick up a lot of dirt as he is a texel and he is due a bath!
What signs should I look for if it was something more serious like mites or infection?

Well spotted and def. keep an eye on it in case it's the start of something fungal, as Ron says. If in doubt post a pic of it and someone here will try and help!

Mine had mites and it started with the thinning of their hair around the shoulders - mine are Texels so it was very noticeable. Let us know how you get on

When I first had Liza I noticed that she had flakes in her hair and thought nothing of this. Now she ash mites and is being treated by the vet and has bald patches (not visible if you are not looking for it) and scabs. So you should get it checked out.
