I’ve moved my piggies cage out of my bedroom into the spare room in my house and ever since they’ve been so quiet and seemed very different they don’t run around as much and they’d stopped going up into the top tier of their cage. I don’t understand as they’re still in the same house with me just in a different room. Will they just be gettin used to a new surrounding or should i move them back into my bedroom? Not sure if they’ll be missing me or something.

Guinea pigs are prey animals that need to get their bearings in any new surroundings. Give them time, and if necessary peg a blanket or sheet over the top to give them more of a feel of protection.

To you they have just moved rooms, to your piggies its the same as moving a hundred miles! New smells and new environment to get used to. Just give them time they will soon be back to normal. You may find they go through the dominance period again.

Try and get them on a routine again. Treats help! As does familiar sounds. If they normally wheeked for something i.e. opening a fridge or wrinkling a plastic bag, try making the sound then giving a veggie treat when they wheek. Before you know it, they'll be waking you up from the other side of the house despite having a fan set on high and AC blasting and door barely open ;)
