So i'm moving soon and the guinea pigs are getting a car ride to our new place but its gonna be a long drive (4.5 hours) anything i should consider. they'll have food and water the pet carrier will be lined with a pee pad and the car seat will have a garbage bag and towel. I'm also moving two rabbits and a cat in the same vehicle. i know rabbits and guinea pigs can't be together but its unavoidable... they'll be in separate cages

We moved with 4 piggies 5 years ago and this was a 200 mile move.
We had 3 sows in one carrier strapped to the passenger seat and covered with a towel.
The newly neutered boar was in his own carrier in the passenger footwell.
I had a tub with cucumber chunks in a bit of water to feed them when we stopped for breaks.
They were all fine.

Hope your move goes well

I moved not too long ago. I agree that piggies do travel well, mine spent most of the journey sleeping. We stopped to check them and offer some water but they didn't want it. They had hay and cucumber in the carrier.
Please try to keep some slightly soiled bedding aside to wipe round and put in their new cage/hutch to minimise the issues you can get with new territory.
Good luck with the move.

Our piggies are all well travelled and have never had any problems. As long as they have something that smells familiar and they're out of draughts it should be fine. One of our piggies does just tend to bed down for a good snooze so if we're travelling more than an hour or so, we make sure he has a good snack at home first to keep him going :-)

Good luck with the move!
