I've finally given in to the weather & today I will be moving the pigs back into their winter accommodation the shed. Its clean out day so the time is right to do it. I feel so guilty seeing them sat there looking miserable. Grass time is minimal becasue even when we do have a show of sun the grass is usually too wet to put them out.
I have 2 stretches of 6ft breeder block which is ready to use - I do also have another 2 stretches of 6ft which I didn't make cage fronts for becuase I usually have 2 groups in the shed over winter and 1 group in the house. But as I have a gerbil tank, a biorb fish tank and an indoor cage with Porter and baby in in the dining room another group of pigs would be a bit OTT! So I guess I'll be making another set of cage fronts for the shed block later on today ::) not what I wanted to be doing today but anything to aviod doing the laundry mountain ?

I do feel a little peed off about it because I got myself a lovely double decker hutch about a month ago which Mr H's group love. I might try & set up a 'Guinea Cam', my technical support has left for the summer & won't be back till mid september so the reality of me getting it to work is minimal!

Usually when I do something like this the weather perks up - so its worth tempting fate!

Has anyone else taken their pigs inside because of the weather?

I've been bringing them inside for a play around in their pen as they can't go in their run, but they're still living outside. Their hutch is quite sheltered and we do have a plastic cover for it to keep the wind and rain out....

Maybe i'm just an eternal optimist that we may have a summer at some point :-\ :-\ :-\

Mine are still out - they come in for play time and stuff though. They do have lots of hay and stuff to keep them nice and cozy outside and also have a plastic cover over the front to keep out wind and rain. I have thought about bringing them back in but my mum wont let me until it goes cold. :( They seem happy outside though.

Awwww I hate this weather, we have had some fairly good days down here so they have been out in the run all day and then the next day they are in again :( I have been covering their runs with tarp when the rain starts and then if we get a little sun or dry patch I whip it off check the ground and usually its ok for piggies to enjoy.

Well as you know Hils Three of mine are out in the piggie mansion and it to heavy to put in the shed. I am geting them a nice roomy hutch for the shed soon though fed up of this RAIN. The other five are still in the shed. We only seem to get the odd few days of sun so fed up now dry wether would be good not hot just dry.

this weather is soo bad :( i've had to move mine back indoors and we are going to clean the shed out so they can go in there. so much for summer?

gettin very black outside right now, just covered my lot up, as it's definatly on it's way.
just looked out, it has arrived GREAT

Going to pick up Thistle Hall from P@H as soon as Rob gets home from work with the van ;) I have cleared a space for it in the shed :) Have got some wood to do the banister up the ramp ect. Cannot wait to bring the trio in out of the damp air.

I think Fudge and Hamish are fine outside in this weather it's me that isn't - feeding and cleaning out is miserable in this rain

Mine are all inside anyway but I'd hoped to put the boys out into summer accommodation for the days. (Haven't finished it off yet but then weather has been rubbish anyway).

Someone at work today said it's like November with leaves. Sums it up brilliantly.

The groups that were in the hutches are now back in the shed ive given up with the summer i dont see the point of waiting for it to clear up i just cant see it happening

Mine live outside all year round,Bring them in for cuddles when its cold/raining (like today). Then i put them back in the run.If its really raining badly I put them in the shed,to shelter them and give the hutch time to dry out.

Oh how I knew this would happen - its glorious here! ::)

;D it was raining heavy not long ago hunny. I was out in it swearing my head off trying to put the Hutch together on my own. I have given in as the boys trashed the house while I was cursing blind at the wind :-X
