Just wanted to let everyone know that Mr. Bailee Boy is doing quite well. I found this excellent vet center called Pender Exotics Veterinary Center. They really know how to handle and deal with little ones like my Mr. Bailee Boy. He was prescribed BACTRIM and MELOXICAM for his UTI. Next week he goes back to get his molars trimmed under GA. He is 5yrs now so what is your opinion about the GA? Here are some pigtures of my handsome man taking a rest. But WATCH-OUT......CHOOOOOOOOKEN!!

Your little man is just so gorgeous. I love his colouring and somehow he just screams personality at you. Hope he gets better soon. I need to get my two and appointment at the vets for next week for a general check up and registration. Hope they will be ok. They seem it so far.

What a gorgeous boy. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Hope Mr Bailee Boy gets better soon. Such a beautiful boy x)

Try not to worry about the GA, our first girl had 3 GA's in 2 months for dental when she was 4 and she recovered well each time. Make sure you get some painkiller for after the dental as it will help him want to eat, as their mouths can be sore after dental work.

Lots of healing vibes to him x

Your so right.....He has the coolest personality ever. I work from home so I'm constantly interacting with him. I made a whole lot of big/long water proof pads so I put them on the couch so he can run around. He's my buddy and he knows it. He's really smart too.

If done properly, even an elderly piggy can come round well after a GA; my 5 year old Cariad has been through a major bladder operation in November, an emergency spay in May and various bladder flushes even though her low weight is a major issue.

Please be aware that you will need to hand feed for some time after a dental and that a piggy will need metacam or another suitable painkiller for the days after. He also may need a second round of dental treatment until his teeth are growing back right and are ground down evenly again.

Your vet centre sounds competent; I am glad that you have found it!

Wishing Mr Bailee a good recovery and all the best for the next step!

Thanks for all your advise and kind words. He has never had dental work so with him still having to be on the antibiotic medicine for another 13days would that effect his going under GA for his teeth? I'm thinking of waiting till the antibiotic has run its course then take him in for his dental.

My Pumpkin went through a spay aged 5 1/2 and she was absolutely fine! I don't think age is necessarily a massive factor, it's more the state of their health. Be prepared to syringe feed, especially as he's having dental work done, and make sure you get pain meds.

Good luck, having a poorly pig is emotionally and physically draining, but it's so worth it when they get better! x
