You are doing an amazing job. Thank you very much. Sorry i have not been around as much. He is booked in for 4.45pm tomorrow now. Couldn't get an earlier one.

If anyone in the Bristol area is able to help with this piggie when lovelygirl is on her holidays that would be much appreciated.

well lets just say apart from this abscess there is nothing wrong with this piggy he eats about as much as my two girls, he has started trying to court them from afar (girlies have been warned off him, no boyfriends they are not old enough no ear piercings, make up or tatoos either :) ). He is so good about having his treatment, even purred this morning whilst i was trying to massage out the pus! He is now really good at taking his syringed medicines.

Good to hear he's otherwise well, you're doing everything thoroughly so fingers crossed things clear up very soon!

"nothing else to add"

Are you not feeling well!?

For once I had no other ideas, and given that Eleanor had already spoken to you I figured she would have received better advice than I could have come up with in this case.

well all went okish with the vet, but have decided that he is not the vet for my girls, he seems quite keen to operate to remove the abscesses, luckily the pea sized one on his shoulder has opened allowing me to remove some of the pus this morning and the one on his side it getting better, much less pus came out this morning. The vet was such a know it all i decided against telling him he was only on 0.4 ml rather than the 2 ml twice a day he prescribed, which he reduced to 1 ml this week. He has one week for it to clear up or he is booked in for an operation on the following tuesday so i am going all guns to get him cleared up by then! Fingers crossed for poor tango

Fingers tightly crossed here, hope he doesn't need surgery! Remember if you are not comfortable about going through with the surgery, talk it through with the vet or find another vet ASAP!

I did say I thought the vet would suggest a GA procedure on the abscess, forewarned is forearmed!

we have had a pus free morning! yay go tango! fingers crossed for it carrying on that way

Well this little guy has been pus free for 36 hours! and he is a cheeky little monkey no more lumps and only tiny tiny scabs and bald patches from where i hacked his hair away so i could see the wounds better for cleaning, i definitely no hairdresser! Tango knows his name will come to the bars to take food from my hands, popcorns daily and chats to the girls and generally seems a happy chappy :) And hopefully finger crossed i will be handing him back to Fi on saturday in much better health and behaviour

just thought i would put a pic of him up for you to see his face

I am so glad for poor Tango; you did such a great job.

Just don't be too gutted if one of the abscesses makes a comeback; they can be such b*ggers!

tango was luckily enough not from chippenham, he was rescued from another breeder

In all honesty, my experience was that the abscess can recur even within a few weeks of its disappearance. In my case it was an abscess on the lower jaw, which tend to be more difficult to cure - hopefully it's a bit less for abscesses on other areas of the body!

Happy to report there is not even a lump this morning, no heat, nothing but a tiny scab on this piggy! and definitely no pus!

WHEW! That's a relief. YAY for you and yay for the lovely Tango. :(|):(|)
