Just wondered if anyone had any experience of this. Its not something I plan to do as such and I know that generally people advise against more than one boar with a group of sows, but wondered if anyone had ssuccessfully managed it (with neutered boars, of course!)?

I think more than 1 boar, neutered or not, with a group of sows would fight.
When my piggies go out for a graze, my 2 neutered boars are out with my sows but the more dominant boar will rumble & nip the other boar. :)

I havent got any sows, only boars but I am going to stick my neck out and say it cant be done!

It definately cant be done
Once when my next door neighbours were walking their boars in their garden and my sows were in their run, the boars came through the big gap in our fence(which they do a lot) and circled the run. Then the two boars started chasing eachother and biting.
Thats just like 2 minutes though, think how it would be if they lived together.

Actually it can be done ;) Its not something I would recommend everyone tries to do though. I have done it twice before but I knew the temperament of the pigs and they were particularly placid boars and got on very well living with their ladies. I would say its near on impossible to do it with very dominant boars. I know of other people that have done it before aswell. Unless you have a seperate hutch in case it didnt work out I wouldnt suggest attempting it. It is very important you know the temperament of your pigs first O0

Thats really interesting sgprescue, would be something I would like to 'test' if the right two boars came my way O0
