I feel sooo emotional today 8... My two boars were neutered yesterday and it was really traumatic leaving them with the vet all day - just wanted my babies back home. They are absolutely fine but despite doing everything by the book, can't stop worrying. They are indoor piggies and live in our lounge, Benny who is a wee bit bad tempered :)) buried his little head under my arm last night when we got back and had a longer cuddle than usual. He normally tolerates 5-10 minutes of me fussing him then wants to go back to tormenting his brother. Like he knew he was home and safe :0 I cried at having to put them through their ops, OH was restless all day at work too rolleyes
Have managed to get time off work but have to go in tomorrow and am dreading leaving them. Today I am armed with poop scoop and absorbent bedding to keep their house clean and obsessively checking them (they are literally 2 feet away from me lol) Had a good chat on the phone with an experienced rescuer this a.m. who has reassured me all will be well but why do I feel so guilty and the daftest thing sets me off in tears ?

You love them, and putting their lives at risk voluntarily is rather stressful. your tears are just the reaction to the tension you've been feeling all day.

I am wishing your boys a good recovery and some lovely girls to fall in love with!

Well i'm answering your last question first..........it's cause you're a lovely piggie mum that why! x)

Good luck for them both, sending healing wheeeeeeeks and loves from the girls xoxoxoxo and gentle loves from me xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Keep on watch for awhile......... from what i've read it's best to keep a strict eye out for any infections just to be safe........if you're at all concerned please post, we've got many people on here that have gone thru this with their boys so understand your concerns xxxxxxxx

Have checked their op sites and all is well so far, aww, little shaved tums and silky smooth skin - I'm an ex nurse lol so anything out of the ordinary will be picked up on.
Think the boys are sick of me keep putting my hands on their bedding checking for wee spots rolleyes
Thanks for being here guys :)p

Hey, really pleased the Op's went well. It's only natural to cry and be worried.

Hoping they have a speedy recovery with no complications, they have a great Piggie mummy to watch over them
x

I cried when I left Frazzle for his neutering too - you're not the only one!

Don't worry, I cried like a baby the morning of my Nibbler's bladder stone removal op. It's because you care and love your little ones lots.

My boys were castrated on xmas eve - I did warn them they would be if they didn't stop fighting - Merry Xmas boys! :(|)

Was really hard leaving them to go to work this morning and bought their favourite treats on the way home, watermelon and parsley. Tried them with a bit of fresh mint and they backed off and hid :)) take that as a no go then ;)
Took them back to Sally the vet (she is brilliant) for a check up - everything ok, wounds nice and clean :)) so all is well and she is happy with them.
Bit more relaxed in myself as well, just really felt awful putting them through the stress and travelling etc. My last day off again tomorrow for this week :( so plan to just idle around with them then OH will take over slave duties the weekend :x
Thanks guys for all of your comforting comments, yes, I cried again at your kindness mallethead

Awwh, they are such lucky boys to have such a caring mummy :) Sending cuddles and wishing them a speedy recovery x)
